What can you do to protect yourself from angry, disputing customers? This is definitely one of the worst parts of any business but there are many ways for your business and you to keep your integrity. So, how do you do it?

  1. Documenting all transactions is extremely important. Do this from the beginning and until the transaction closes.
  2. Keep records of all communication with customers. Nothing is too minor or insignificant.
  3. Answer questions promptly.
  4. If there are problems with the product or merchandise make sure that the customer has an avenue for recourse. Have a GOOD return policy!
  5. Follow the process by which the auction site has set-up for customer disputes. Generally, your record will prove fault. Have a GOOD auction record and rating!
  6. Do not get too stressed out with the disputing customer. If you have followed good business procedure, you're sure to be cleared. This is why it is important to have a system for your business in place.
