A Perfect Description For Your eBay Listing
When you are writing your title and description for your eBay product, make sure to take the job seriously. As a power seller on eBay, I have employed many techniques to writing the perfect description for my products. Here are some of my tried and true tips on how to write a selling title and description:
Honest eBay Sales Pitches
1. Make sure that you write the exact description of your item. If it is an electronic item, be sure to describe just that. This tip seems simple but is all too often a missing piece to many auctions.
2. Create an easy to read format that your customers will be able to understand. I’ve found that my auctions work best as a list or a table. Include all pertinent information regarding the item; model, year, color, pattern, manufacturer, size, weight, material composition, texture, where item was purchased etc. There are many types of eBayers out there that will search for different things but want the same item.
3. When you use abbreviations in your description, make sure to include them in your title. For example, many people use the term T.V., but television should be also included in the description.
4. Check out the competition every now and again if not always. Make sure that your prices are competitive.
5. Be honest in your listing. If there is a flaw or discrepancy, make sure that that potential buyer is aware of this much needed information. If the item is new but the packaging has been opened, list it that way. Many buyers want to know if the item is coming from a home with pets or smokers make sure you list this. The more you place in the auction listing, the fewer amounts of questions you will receive from your buyers thus saving you time and money.
6. Do not use descriptions that use words such as cute, fashionable, hot, exciting etc. in the listing. The buyer will be able to decipher the above through the description as well as the picture posting. Seriously, do not use the above words; they are usually not used in the buyer’s search.
7. Retail cost should be identified for the buyer. Some individuals will be more apt to bid if they feel as though the product is a steal of a deal.
8. Use consistency in your listings. Do not alter the format of your listings; you want to establish some type of brand for your auctions. This includes keeping the colors identical or similar. Always include your company name as part of your listing. This is easy to add and will identify your company for the customer.
Good luck with your listings!
