Having completed the research of looking at other members’ auctions as directed you should have lots of ideas as to how to put together your own auction.
If you are still unsure about how to approach putting together the content of your auction, no worries! We will take you through this step by step.
Here is the order of what we will do:
- Take the picture(s) of your auction item
- Write the title of your auction
- Write the sales copy of your auction
- Take the Picture(s) of Your Item
As was previously discussed we are a visual society and tend to think if we do not see an item it does not exists or may exist in a different condition than we believe. So, for most people seeing is believing…and the better the presentation of what is seen the more likely buyers are to believe, want, bid and compete for what they see.
In this lesson we will show you some slick ways to add additional images of your item into your auction without being charged by eBay. As you know from your eBay education, you can upload one image into your eBay auction without a charge; additional images are charged a fee. There are ways to get around that.
Taking pictures of your item
You will need a digital camera to take pictures of the items you want to sell on eBay. Many people believe that you need a camera with most mega pixels possible. In reality, you only need a camera with 640X480 pixels. This is because that is the max resolution for most all monitors. Excess pixels just slow down the download time for your images.
An Example of Pictures Creating Emotion
Let me give you an example. While this is directed at the men in the audience you women will know exactly what we are talking about. We just have to work with the guys a little more closely so they will get it, if you know what we mean. No offense meant, guys.
Let’s say you are a single guy. (If you are married remember back to those bygone days.) A friend of yours tells you there is a gorgeous girl that is visiting his girlfriend for a few days and he wants to know if you would like to double date with them.
Of course you are suspicious and you ask what she looks like. Your buddy tells you she is a knock out great figure, beautiful long hair, gorgeous eyes, super personality and an unbelievable smile. You’re thinking, I'll bet her smile is unbelievable…she’s probably missing teeth. No, no, your buddy insists, she’s a looker! Then you ask him the inevitable…do you have a picture? As a matter of fact he does, in fact, several!
He shows you the first shot and it is of his girl friend (of course) and this other gal. It is not a great shot, a little blurry and from a distance, but from what you can see she is looking good. You’re interested.
