When you choose your user ID remember you are choosing your name everyone on eBay will know you by. It is a good idea to stay away from negative sounding names. Plenty of people use their real names.
Some helpful tips about user IDs:
- eBay displays you ID in all lowercase letters.
- Spaces are not allowed
- You may change your ID every 30 days, but your feedback will not change.
- You may use any symbol except @ and &.
Your first week should be spent getting up to speed on the basics of doing business on eBay. To do that you will be going through the online eBay education links found on the previous page. Please do not continue further until you feel you are an expert on the information provided already.
Remember it takes time to make your brain grow and set the information in your mind. Go through the eBay links at least twice and preferably three times to make sure you have a good grasp of the material and an over all picture of eBay auctions and making them work for you.

- Find matches of what you would like to auction and possible connections to suppliers you might already have.

You can also find some items around your home that you could market on eBay.
Gather three to six items. These are not necessarily items you are going to make money on now. These are items you will be practicing with to learn how auctions work. (By the way, there is more to creating a successful auction than just filling out the information form.) If you do a good job this will assist you in building up your positive feedbacks and you may make some money in the meantime. If you are not sure what items you might start with, consider these:

- Video tapes
