Having a product source is critical to your success on any e-commerce site. The choice of product should be determined by your passion, vision and knowledge of that individual item. Here are some of my suggestions on finding your product and distributors:

• Research your local library - There is a wealth of information on product areas, purchasing products and distributors on the shelves of any library.
  
  
• Surf the web - Use keywords such as the brand name, distributors, wholesale, business, product etc.
  
  
• Go shopping - in areas that would house your product. Ex. Malls, stores, thrift shops, etc.
  
  
• Let your fingers do the walking - Use your local telephone book as a source of information. Do not be afraid to call and discuss your questions with the manager of the business – better yet, ask for the owner.
  
  
• Network - Networking is huge when beginning a business. Discuss your business plans any opportunity you get and to whomever will listen. This could be family, friends, neighbors, co-workers etc.
  
  

Again, stay on track, keep focused and remain positive.
